Vastu in the Garden

Our personal garden at home is a place where we can restore our inner peace, away from the hustle bustle of our busy hectic lives. Similarly, even art lets us lose our imagination free and we are able to look at the world with a different and new perspective. However, if we combine these two, that is if we place art in the garden premises, it would create a magical effect to relax and rejuvenate our senses. In this manner, color, form and texture can be used to add stimulation to our senses and can also assist in providing movement and sound by making use of natural elements around us in the environment.

For example, flowering plants not only enhance the beauty of the house aesthetically but also add on drastically to our environment. Even climbers play a pivotal role in enhancing ornamental horticulture. However, as a Vastu expert, I believe, it is highly important to add the touch of Vastu principles in whatever element you add on to your garden and surrounding. They should adhere to Vastu guidelines in order to prove beneficial and positive for you.

Gardens, in general, should always be positioned in the North or west of the plot in offices, homes and factories. Gardens should never be placed in the south-east or south-west portions of the compound. Some of the common trees which should be chosen for plantation in multi-storied structures to the west and north of the plot are Ashok, Kanakchampa, Ashaphala, Smabhaloo and coconut.

Vastu tips for planting different kinds of trees and plants within the boundaries of your house and office:

• A lot of positive energy is generated by planting a Basil plant within the confines of your house

• The west direction should have the Bilva, Madhuka and Peepal trees

• The south direction can have the Udumbara (Goolar) and Panas trees

• Planting a Kanakchampa tree in the north brings about wealth and prosperity for its inmates

• Mental peace and heath are supported if coconut and banana trees are planted within the campus of a house.

• A water pond can also be created with lotus in it, this proves to be highly favorable for the occupants of the house.

• Slides, swings and other units for entertainment of kids should be positioned in the north-west direction of the garden. Plantation of trees should be avoided in the south-east, east, south-west, north-west and north as these corners should be kept free. Gardens which are positioned towards the south-west and south-east of the plots are believed to bring tensions, especially large and tall trees. These should never be planted towards the north or the east.

• The center of any site should also be devoid of any large trees.

• Palash, Arjun, Sleshmataka and Karanj plants should not be planted within the boundaries of the house. However, if they are already there, these should be balanced off by planting trees like Sudarshan, Nirgundi and Ashok in the appropriate directions.

• Cactus should never be planted within the house limits as they bring tensions and create friction in relationships.

• Planting Ber and bamboo plant within the house limits increases enmity and hence should not be planted at all.

• There should not be a fountain in the garden which happens to be at the center of the house limit.

• Fountains and artificial springs should be in the north-east

Your Water Sources Can Decide Your Good Luck

Vaastu is an age old process of understanding movements or perfect directions for any set-up or structure. Vaastu Shastra was predominantly considered important by most architects and priests during the early decades. This has been followed strictly till now in most Indian houses. The ancient Indian architecture will also speak volumes on Vaastu Shastra and every direction would have a certain meaning attached to every activity or person. Today, people invest in properties that have been designed and planned according to Vaastu Shastra. This allows them to live in peace as properties designed according to Vaastu can bring in money, health and happiness.

Water Resources

Every utility has a purpose. The use of water tanks and other resources are extremely important in every household. There are reasons why they need to be placed in the proper direction. Most houses will need water at every point of the day. Hence you would always find wells in villages placed in a particular location. Their location is decided by priests after understanding the house format and structure. The perfect place for water resources can bring in wealth, health and happiness in the family. You must get in touch with your Vaastu expert in case you want to understand the perfect locations of water tanks.

The Ideal Location

Vaastu advice for water resources suggests North-east to be the ideal location for tanks, wells or other kind of resources. You could place one or more tanks in the Northern direction too. The Under-water tank needs to be placed at the North-east direction. You must also draw an axis depicting north to east and south to west which will create a left and right path for the tank. The Northern direction is considered auspicious in houses and hence it must be left vacant. This vacant space can accommodate water tanks which leave a positive effect. Vaastu advice for water resources also covers ideas for over-head tanks that can be placed in the South-West direction. Avoid placing it in the Southern direction as it can get inauspicious. The perfect position of these can bring in prosperity, health and peace for the inmates of the house. Vaastu advice for water resources does cover problems associated with ill-placement. Some of the common problems observed in the family are enmity, death, infertility, children quarreling, sexual problems, loss of wealth.

Hence, the perfect locations for water resources are North, North-east and East. It would be highly advisable if you place or position them in these directions. You could always take help of an expert Vaastu professional who would solve all major Vastu related problems for you. He would be in a position to guide you with locations that will need some kind of change. In case you have already designed your house and are lately observing few problems, it is recommended you show it to a Vaastu expert. Vaastu advice for water resources also covers placing taps or pumps at certain locations in villages or fields that can bring in prosperity and balance. It is a matter of time when you see the difference in your financial situation.

How Plots can be Graded Irrespective of Price ?

Vastu Shastra forms an important part of every housing pattern. The use of Vastu elements in designing and planning the layout of a property have always played a very important role in discerning its effects on its inmates. With the growing consciousness about Vastu, people are now quite keen on consulting a Vastu expert for all their necessities whether it be for their residential or business needs. It ignites a ray of hope for getting rid of the negativity present within the structure and thereby avoiding possible accidents which might occur due to non-compliance of Vastu principles. Hence, the role of Vastu has always been considered of great importance even though not mandatory. Like every designing and planning system Vaastu Shastra too can grade a particular plot for you. There are different reasons and considerations on the basis of which this decision or grading is evaluated. The first concern always remains with respect to geographical locations. There are four main grading categories:

plots

First Grade Plots

Grading of plots is often done after scanning through the barren or open plots. These plots are always considered prime plots. People are always considered lucky to own such plots. The way to judge is by observing roads on all four sides of the plot. It will also be great if the plots are in a square or rectangular shape. They must also have a slope towards the eastern and northern sides. These plots could always have hills, tall buildings on the western and southern sides. These plots are often called as Bramha Stavam. Lands on all four sides tend to bring in lots of positivity. Plots that have roads on the east and northern directions, which could possibly extend to the north-eastern directions, are called first grade plots. The roads, ponds or lakes on the Northern or Eastern side could also be very auspicious.

Second Grade Plots

These plots will have low lying roads on the eastern and western directions. These plots have their slopes or a river on the East. The possibility of roads on the northern and southern side will also be considered auspicious. You would often find the slopes of such plots to face northwards. Such plots also tend to have hills and mountains towards the southern direction. If the plot only has one road towards the northern and eastern direction, it would still fall under the second grade. The road on the western side will definitely be lower than the roads facing the northern or eastern directions.

Third Grade Plots

Mostly grading of plots does not follow any particular pattern. Some plots might have a downward slope which might either face the western side or eastern side. These plots could very well have a downward facing slope on the eastern direction. They might end up having buildings and mountains towards the western or southern directions. Some plots also have mountains facing the eastern direction whereas roads could be facing the northern, western or southern directions.

Fourth Grade Plots

These plots will only have one road which would normally face the Southern or Western direction. The roads would normally face the south or the east. These plots will also have hills and tall buildings on the eastern, northern or western zones. Most of these plots will have roads simultaneously attached to the Northern or Southern directions. A downward slope would be essential towards the Southern zone of such plots. You will also notice a river or some kind of valley towards the Southern direction. You could observe roads with an oblique cut towards the South-western or South-eastern direction.

Entrance Says Many Things About The Owner

The entrance of a house is also called the mirror or the face of the house as it predicts and reveals many things about its occupants in terms of their nature, and especially health. Having a kitchen right at the entrance of a house is considered to be a major Vastu flaw and in such cases focus of the inmates on food is very intense. Having the kitchen right in front of the entrance, either on the right or the left side, is quite problematic for the house mates and there is a probability of lethargy, frequent health and stomach problems to be quite high among the members residing within such a house. Even a visible kitchen with an exposed gas stove again subjects the occupants of the house to the same condition. In such a situation, modern experts do not always recommend shifting but suggest a practical solution like using a door that hides the gas stove from the direct vision of the kitchen from the entrance.

ENTRANCE-SAYS

Bedroom placed near the entrance also brings in bad luck for the owner or patient, if any, of the house because in such a case good fortune gets stuck outside at the entrance thereby making it difficult for patients to recover. Hence, bedroom just next or near the entrance should be avoided so as to maintain good health recovery for the inmates of the house.

The owner of the house or an ailing person should stay in the room far away from the main entrance door. If the problem still persists, then the negative energy can be discarded by using a bowl filled with salt water while to purify the aura of the ailing person, light a candle in the room.

The front door of thehouse and the objects displayed and projected through the door speaks a lot about the house condition and wealth of its occupants. For example, an entrance door adorned with innovative things tells about the rich heritage of the ancestor’s of the owner who might have enjoyed good fortune.

The entrance door which is kept in a shabby condition does not speak much about the owner and the house fortune as not much can be expected out of such houses
The master bedroom if found near the entrance door manifests great fortunes for the master through female sources. It would even get good wealth to him through secret sources.

Is Your Health Going Down ?

Vastu of a living place is all about procuring good health, wealth and all-round prosperity. A house is precisely constructed as per Vastu to attain the three P’s of life viz Prosperity, Peace and Progress. A structure which is made with complete Vastu compliance and accordance yields you maximum benefits and bestows health, wealth and harmony for its occupants. Generally, Vastu principles are followed in such a manner that the occupants suffering from prolonged illness or diseases get cured organically or naturally as soon as the directions are altered as per Vastu principles.

health2

Every house has some Vastu defect or the other. Most of the people living within such houses are not even aware of the concept of Vastu and hence they fail to understand the reason behind such prolonged illness being suffered by the people living within that house. Some houses tend to inherit diseases due to construction done in the wrong direction and many other Vastu defects which can only be cured by taking proper and effective measures for the same. It can therefore be rightly said that Vastu measures are conducive for quick recovery towards combating chronic illnesses.

Vastu follows some prescribed norms which must be stringently followed within a structure or house to achieve good health, wealth, happiness and overall well-being. Some of the Vastu principles which help in keeping health in good condition are as follows:

• One should always sleep with head towards the south or the east

• Avoid sitting or sleeping under an exposed beam.

• While eating your meals, face the east or the north

• The placement of an ideal kitchen should be in the south-east

• A kitchen constructed in the north-east creates a lot of health problems in women and hence should be avoided at all cost.

• The elderly people or the main owner of the house should be allotted the south-west direction bedroom so as to ensure good health for them

• Mobile phones and other electronic gadgets should be kept away from the bed in order to ensure sound sleep. Even storing things made of iron under the bed creates health problems for people.

• Bamboo plants should not be grown in the house garden as this is considered inauspicious according to Vastu

• Mirrors within the house should not be kept exposed. All the mirrors, including laptop screens and TV screens should be kept covered.

• Use green color hues for the North east direction like the upholstery, paint for the walls and so on

• Kitchen and toilet should never be constructed together, side by side, and they should be placed at maximum distance from each other

• The space beneath the staircase should be used for storage but it should not be converted into any usable place as kitchen, toilet etc.

• The bed should be kept three inches away from the wall

• There should not be any functional place or room above or below the kitchen or toilet

The bhramasthan can give problems

Brahmasthan is the main center of any plot which is considered to be of great importance and significance and should be kept vacant and free from any construction. It is the main center of any plot where from Vastu directions are determined thereby making it an extremely important point. According to Vastu, this area of any plot should be fixed for open space with no construction because Brahmasthan is the root of energies that are dispersed to every corner and surrounding of a plot. Hence, construction done in this part of the plot means blocking the energies that keep a living place lively.

bhramsthan1

Brahmasthan is considered to be the most powerful and holy zone in the house, as sacred as the Ishaan zone (North-east), that is why it is immensely important to keep the center non-obstructive and tidy so as to ensure a better inflow of energies. The Brahmasthan or the middle zone of the house should be kept free from objects/things, clean and also sky open if possible just like a courtyard or an open balcony. An open courtyard or center brings all kinds of riches and prosperity for the occupants if proper Vastu principles are complied by.

• The center of a house can be discerned easily by dividing the plot in eight directions and the middle part of the plot should be considered as Brahmasthan.

• A toilet, bathroom or septic tank should never be constructed in the Brahmasthan.

• Avoid making a kitchen in the central place of the house as well because fire in the Brahmasthan can bring undesirable effects to the occupants of the house

• The center of plot should also not be used for the construction of staircase, in fact this space should be left open for relaxing and meditation

• There should not be any beam in the center of the house

• One should avoid sleeping in the middle of the house

• Other constructions like store room, arches etc should also be avoided in the Brahmasthan

Brahmasthan, as the name signifies, is a place allotted to Lord Brahma, the creator, and hence it should be kept absolutely spic and span, free from dirt, clean and pure. It should be used for pious activities as far as possible and the space should be kept open with the sky overlooking it. Any construction, not complaint with Vastu principles, in this part of the house can lead to major mishaps and unluckiness in terms of health, wealth, happiness and prosperity of the inmates

Vastu Is Not About Structural Changes – Remedies Are Enough

Vastu, as said by me many times in the past, is an age old doctrine which finds its existence since the ancient era during the time of the epics of Mahabharata and Ramayana. Its roots are spread way beyond than what we can even imagine. However, there are many myths attached to this ancient science which refrain people from adapting to it in their daily life. The most wrong perception in the minds of the general masses pertaining to Vastu is that it demands demolition and structural changes which can be afforded only be the rich and mighty. But, this does not stand true. Vastu principles stand equally both for the rich and the poor. It does not confine to any particular strata of society. It has confirmed set of norms which can be implemented on any structure or building. This means that any individual can adapt Vastu in his life and reap benefits from it even without undergoing structural changes in the structure.

In the recent time period, the concept of Indian Vastu has gained sky rocketing fame, the reason behind this is that when every other manner of gaining wealth, health and prosperity stops working, this esoteric concept seems to be the only resort which holds back people and enables them to earn prosperity and success in life. Be it a huge building or a small residential building, the principle of Vastu stands same for every kind of construction. Vastu does not assign structural changes for rectifying Vastu defects, in fact there are many remedial measures which can be adopted and which do not require any demolition of the structure or building or any part of it. In fact, these remedial actions can do wonders in rectifying Vastu problems and bringing life in sync with success and prosperity in every sphere like health, wealth and happiness.

Due to unawareness and lack of consciousness about Vastu many people are scared to apply it in their daily lives because they think that switching to Vastu principles would lead to structural demolition within their premises. However, the fact is that the knowledge of Vastu is not restricted to structural changes but there are several remedial measures which can do the needful without involving in any kind of structural changes within the existing structure. Structural changes involving demolition are required and suggested only in very extreme cases where there is absolutely no compilation with Vastu principles and major Vastu defects are noticed within the plot.

As a Vastu expert myself, I never recommend solutions demanding demolition of a structure to my followers as I believe there is a better solution to every Vastu problem in terms of remedial measures.
